Armadillo&Co adds a bit of colour to its range of rugs
armadillo&co has given in to popular demand and added colour to its unique range of earthy rugs.
the stratum collection made with 100 per cent wool now features bold crimson stripes on white in both the ribbon and band designs.
co-founder and creative director jodie fried says customers have frequently requested the company expand its palette with a new shade.
“we are often asked if we could produce colours, especially red, and had already been perfecting the crimson for some time with our artisans and dyers in india,” she says.
the design duo behind armadillo&co believe crimson was the perfect addition to the earthy tones already featured in the product.
“we are best known for our earthy natural, charcoal and ash tones and we wanted to introduce a lovely accent of colour that respected the tones of our existing range. the crimson was the perfect adjunct as it's a gorgeous dirty, earthy red and works well with our existing earthy tones,” fried explains.
the new addition is expected to attract plenty of attention from customers wanting something a little different to decorate their home, despite the earthy range being the designers’ best seller.
“we find that our main best seller is always our staple earthy range (it’s hard to find good quality natural rugs) but when we introduce something as an accent we find it always does well, as it is a great way to change or shift a space. it is ideal for adding a graphic element to a contemporary living space or injecting a bit of fun into a kids bedroom.”
it’s likely it won’t be the last time armadillo&co add a dash of colour to its products with new colour concepts currently in “secret development”.
