Sebastian Says introduces Liberty shirts for dogs
Melbourne-based dog outfitter label, Sebastian Says, has launched its latest collection for our four-legged furry friends.
The range, consisting of dog shirts and bandanas, features classic prints from the iconic print house, Liberty.
Sebastian Says founder, Suz Strampic, who has a background in textile design, was inspired by the British fabric house, Liberty.
“I’ve always wanted to branch further out into the apparel industry for dogs,” she explains.
“My background is in fashion, and I’ve always appreciated Liberty fabrics. The distinctive hand-feel and translucent softness will ensure it remains a versatile favourite for the urban dog lover.”
Indeed, Strampic’s background in high fashion made dressing her muse Sebastian easy.
“The Sebastian Says collection is a wardrobe of everyday staple pieces for dogs, where each item has been thoughtfully designed with a bohemian-style aesthetic. Each piece is unique to the Sebastian Says brand because they have been designed by me with our signature gold SS branding.
“We choose natural fibres that are long lasting and better for the environment. We focus on quality materials that stand the test of time, meaning less landfill in the long run, and our continued pursuit of sustainability.”
This latest collection is available in four fabrics designs―paisley, ditsy, mustard and floral. They are made in Melbourne using Tana Lawn cotton that is printed with intricate patterns and colours. The latest Sebastian Says dog shirts are also available in three French Linen colours―toffee, pale pink and blue.
Sebastian Says’ dog ranges are highly sought after and Strampic says it’s because people are becoming savvier in the way they shop for pet accessories.
“Many young professionals and couples are delaying families and opting for fur babies instead, so the demand for pet products has risen. Social media has given us the ability to shop around for the best brands selling what we want with the latest and greatest. We are surrounded by great brands offering unique products that are easily obtainable.
“Many overseas countries have already seen the popularity in pets products, particularly dog accessories and clothing. Take Japan for example, they have been dressing their pooches in high end fashion clothing for quite some time now. Australia has followed their footsteps in making our dogs look as stylish and polished, so expect to see more dogs wearing shirts, sweaters, booties and headwear,” she adds.
The shirts retail for $119.95 and the bandanas for $49.95.
