Aromababy signs deal with Watsons in China
Aussie baby skincare brand Aromababy and pharmacy group Watsons have partnered up with the first order delivered last week.
The deal, which took almost 12 months to secure, is thought to be the first for the sector.
“We’ve been working on distribution in China for five years―the past year spent communicating with Watsons,” says founder Catherine Cervasio, who recently won the HKABA Victoria Business Award for Excellence in Bilateral Trade to China and Hong Kong.
“I have been to China every two months for the past year. It’s vital to build relationships and understand the market. It doesn’t happen overnight.”
This latest collaboration will help cement Aromababy’s reputation as a results-driven, destination baby beauty brand which appeals to Chinese parents, she explains.
“With more than 16 million babies born annually in China, Aromababy is poised to take advantage of the opportunity in both the retail environment and professional health sector, via a unique, educational aspect to our distribution business.”
Available in Australia for more than 20 years, Cervasio says Aromababy has positioned itself as a professional eco brand, with a long history of safety and efficacy.
“Concentrated formulations and quality ingredients ensure a little goes a long way. We have also just launched in National Pharmacies in Australia and are in talks with another major department store chain in China. 2017 is shaping up to be a very exciting year.”
