Two new additions to MFGD portfolio
Design company Made From Good Deeds (MFGD) has introduced two new products to its home décor range.
In keeping with MFGD’s pared back approach, the Hangar is a practical wooden solution for displaying prints and artwork that uses a simple magnetic attachment. The brand also recently released the Platform 3 desk organiser, which helps customers keep track of their three most important items: keys, phone and wallet. It can also work as an organiser for everything from loose change to stationery.
Run by brother and sister team Daniel and Christel Hadiwibawa, MFGD launched in September 2014 and shot to success with its unique 2015 desk calendar, which featured three good deeds customers could complete each month.
“We like the idea of inspiring people to spread good vibes in their community, and one way we thought we could achieve this was to blend these positive acts with the creation of minimal and beautifully designed objects that people use daily in their home and office space,” explains Daniel.
“That’s how MFGD started; we’re a homewares and stationery brand with a positive twist.”
Other products that reflect this ethos include Public Cards, which feature positive messages customers can leave for strangers to find, and print and card collaborations with Jessie Miles of In the Daylight and typographer Gehan Magee.
“We aim to create products that enhance people’s lives and simplify living. Simplicity has always been the underlying thread behind our design values. We also believe in collaborations and promoting creative talent.
“Yes, our products aren’t necessarily revolutionary in any way, but we’ve kept true to our values of keeping things simple, minimal and practical, and as a result we seem to attract that type of audience. The highlight has definitely been hearing positive feedback from our customers, who are really happy with our products.”
Hadiwibawa says all MFGD products are currently designed, printed and made in Australia because the pair believes in supporting local businesses. They are stocked in homewares and stationery stores around Australia.
The 2016 MFGD desk calendar will be in production soon and pre-orders can be made via the website.
