WAM starts new chapter for Onkaparinga
After taking over one of Australia’s oldest companies in 2013, WAM Home Décor (WAM) has reinvigorated bedding and homewares brand Onkaparinga with a new website and product line.
Started in Hahndorf, South Australia by two German brothers over 145 years ago, Onkaparinga has become known worldwide for luxurious, quality products. According to marketing coordinator Alicia Woods, this is a heritage WAM wanted to celebrate.
“To preserve the history of Onkaparinga as one of Australia’s oldest companies is of utmost importance to WAM,” she says. “As a proud Australian owned company itself, the importance of retaining the history of Onkaparinga as well as the quality, superior products the brand is well known for is extremely important.”
With 40 years of experience in the textile industry, Woods says WAM aims to guide Onkaparinga using the company’s philosophy of offering quality, up to date and innovative products.
“With an exclusive range for the Onkaparinga brand, a new website and new products being introduced, Onkaparinga is beginning a new chapter and we are working towards growth for both Australian brands.”
Woods says that retailers have had a great reaction to WAM taking over the company, as it has added to WAM’s already extensive range of home décor products.
“Having the opportunity to supply a large range of products from two Australian owned brands has pleased Australian retailers… Our luxurious ranges of bedding will continue to grow…and the Onkaparinga bedding range is already doing well in leading retailers across Australia, and we will continue to expand the range.”
Onkaparinga products are designed in Australia, and the current range includes bedding, electric blankets, nursery and beach products.
