John Logan Foundation dinner to raise funds for cancer
Continuing its massive success, the John Logan Cancer Treatment Foundation (JLCTF) gala dinner will be held again in August during the Melbourne Gift Fair.
The event, which is now in its sixth consecutive year, aims to raise as much money as possible to help those that are battling gastrointestinal cancer.
“This is the foundation’s major fundraiser so we are hoping to fill as many seats as possible,” says Amanda Mooney, who takes care of marketing and communications. “On the night, we also have an auction, a silent auction and raffle. We are also still accepting donations for prizes, which can be anything from gift vouchers to a ride in a hot air balloon.”
John Logan suffered from bowel cancer and when his battle ended in 2008 at only 46 years old, his family and friends went on to establish the JLCTF in 2009. Since helping its first patient in 2010, JCLTF has financially supported nearly 300 Australians by providing close to $800,000 towards treatment.
The dinner is held on Saturday 1 August and will include food and entertainment for up to 600 guests, most of them representatives of the gift and homewares industry from Australia and New Zealand. Tickets are still available and can be purchased at www.trybooking.com/Booking/BookingEventSummary.aspx?eid=123132
Sponsors of this fabulous evening include key industry operators such as Albi, Sheldon & Hammond, Meyer Cookware, Home & Giving and Reed Gift Fairs. There are still a few openings left so if you would like to be involved, contact Amanda Mooney on amanda@johnloganfoundation.com.au
