Dulux pairs with Aussie fashion brand
Paint company Dulux and Australian fashion label Ginger & Smart have revealed their first project together as part of a new creative partnership, styling a Melbourne home.
Dulux’s interior design team, led by creative consultant Bree Leech, paired with fashion icons Alexandra and Genevieve Smart to bring to life the colours, textures and mood of Ginger & Smart’s Autumn/Winter 2015 collection, Arcadia.
“Bringing to life the Arcadia collection from Ginger & Smart was an exciting process,” says Leech. “I love the challenge of balancing the use of colour and pattern in interiors that still result in spaces exuding luxury and style.
“Alexandra and Genevieve’s vision married well with my own and the result is a vivid representation of their collection in the interior of Arcadia House.”
Featuring simple and soft furniture alongside shelves painted in Dulux’s blue-black shade, Metalise, the living room reflects the Arcadia woman, who exudes a sense of harmony and an innate feeling of strength. The collection’s namesake print inspired the colour scheme in the bedroom, featuring the moody North Sea Blue on the walls and ceiling, and a large floral pattern in Mexican Milk, Lippie, Auburn Lights, Pinnacle and Pop Shop.
The Smarts were excited to take their first steps into the home space, and are part of a growing trend of fashion influencing interior style. “The process of bringing to life our collection in the Arcadia house was inspiring and a natural extension of the creative process we adopt when designing a fashion collection,” they explain. “We loved working collaboratively with Dulux.”
The collaboration will continue in the future with the brands focused on projects that combine fashion and interior design.
