OPUS opens Sydney pop up shop
Quirky gift and homewares retailer OPUS has opened a kiosk in Sydney’s Strand Arcade that will run until the end of December.
According to owner Chris Tourgelis, the reaction from customers has been fantastic. “The city customers are loving our kiosk,” he says. “They are such a great mix of people and they are all rushing around but they love taking a minute to step into the OPUS kiosk.”
The city pop up location was chosen because of its heritage. “The Strand building is one of the most iconic and historic landmarks in the Sydney CBD,” says Tourgelis. “It just oozes style and sophistication. It definitely fits in with where we are positioning our brand and where we want to take it.”
The setup is actually two kiosks, one showcasing the bestselling gifts and novelties from OPUS and the other featuring an assortment of gifts and women’s accessories from sister store OPUS Design Co.
“It is hard to say what the bestselling items are at this point because of how new the kiosk is, but I can report that the city is really enjoying our selection of gifts and finding excitement right across our range,” says Tourgelis. “It will be exciting to discover how the city customer differs from our traditional customers over the coming weeks.”
