Royal Selangor adds Dutch brand to portfolio
Royal Selangor has taken on exclusive Australian distribution for Boska, a Dutch brand known for its cheesewares – accessories for enjoying cheese.
Royal Selangor sales and marketing manager for retail and wholesale, Andrew McLean, discovered Boska at Ambiente in Frankfurt earlier this year.
“Royal Selangor and Boska have a lot in common,” he says. “Both are family companies run by the fourth generation, both have a passion for quality and design combined with excellent service, and both are strong in conceptual selling. It is the perfect foundation for a profitable partnership.”
McLean says the brand fits perfectly with the company’s kitchenware and cookware categories.
“It complements our existing cookware brands, WMF and Royal Selangor, so we can offer a complete kitchenware solution,” he adds.
“Boska has a comprehensive assortment that offers an appropriate cheese tool for every cheese lover. From sleek and colourful designs through to elegant oak, slate and fine china porcelain serving ware.”
Boska was launched in 1896 and is now sold in more than 85 countries. Royal Selangor will take on around 70 per cent of the range to commence with.
“We are expecting a very strong response,” he says. “The cheeseware category is an underdeveloped category here in Australia that is calling for a dedicated and complete cheese category solution.”
Products will hit stores at the end of July/early August and will be on display at the Home and Giving Fair in Melbourne.
