Fragrance range brings the London Olympics home
angel aromatics has released a range of fragrant oils, best of britain, to coincide with the 2012 olympic games. the collection is made up of nine scents with names reminiscent of british icons in honour of the host city such as scones and jam which has a vanilla, butter and cream type fragrance, and kensington which is a floral type scent just like the gardens there.
“first we decided to come up with some names and then we sat down with our perfumer and started mixing what fragrance that name would symbolise,” says office manager lana vidler. “so rather than come out with the scent first and then name it scones and jam we came up with the name scones and jam and developed a scent around it.”
the brand decided to create the oil range as a way to celebrate the iconic sporting event – which begins friday july 27 – in a unique and fun way.
“we’re always trying to be dynamic and release new products and everyone loves the olympic games so we thought a fragrance range was in order to celebrate that.
“we found that most people like to watch the olympic games with friends and when you go over to a friend’s place its nice to bring a present, so we were hoping they would be an appropriate gift – something you could easily bring, is not very expensive, has got a very low price point and it’s something to celebrate the games, something a bit different,” vidler adds.
though best of britain was only released last week it has already had a great response from both retailers and customers, but those who haven’t purchased it should get in quick.
“it’s more of a trend item… more of a current collection so i don’t think it will be available forever, but it’s just something to celebrate the games so it’s more of just sort of the current range we’ve released.”
