Sydney jeweller launches debut range
lizunova fine jewels, the brand created by maria lizunova, has launched its first collection with the help of australian design hub workshopped, which now stocks the pieces.
the russian born sydney artist realised her dream to create jewellery eight years ago.
“it has been a long and winding path since, involving taking private lessons with a manufacturing jeweler and hand-making a few commission pieces until, about a year ago, i decided to work with a professional jeweller here in sydney,” she says. “working with an experienced jeweler gives me freedom in design, and my pieces the quality i’m proud to put my name to.”
inspired by the natural beauty of gemstones and lizunova’s russian childhood, art and travel, most pieces in the collection are made of white, yellow and rose gold and gemstones, natural stones and diamonds.
“lizunova jewels are both timeless and contemporary; they straddle the space between costume and more conservative, heirloom-type jewellery, without dipping into kitsch.
“women are quite particular in what they like: the colour of gold, the size and colour of gemstones. because our pieces are made specifically for each client, the metals and gemstones are individually selected for each piece, making sure our customers get exactly what they want,” she explains.
the designs are aimed at women over the age of 20 “…who value individuality, quality and style”.
