Zoobies brand makes Australian debut
outliving has expanded its product range into the kids’ plush sector with an exclusive distribution deal for zoobies.
the brand creates plush toys which are also a pillow and blanket. it was created by two young brothers from a family of nine children who wanted to make long car trips and family days out easier for parents.
“they are a plush toy, a comfy pillow and a snugly blanket, which also detaches for easy washing,” says managing director barry glick.
“that’s three products in one. couple that with great design and quality as well as proven track record in overseas markets and we have ourselves a guaranteed winner for retailers and consumers alike.”
designs include licensed characters such as the hungry caterpillar, spot and clifford the big red dog.
zoobies was discovered overseas during a buying trip. its level of success in the us market inspired outliving to pursue the distribution and expand its range of kids products.
“kids is a growing category for outliving. we currently offer a kids gardening range, kids first aid range, kids stationery range, as well as kids kitchen, home and novelty items. we are proud to now be expanding into the ever popular plush market sector.”
despite the product not being officially launched until the august home & giving fair, the product is already in stock and attracting plenty of interest.
“we have had a fantastic response and expect the hype to rise with the official launch… the hungry caterpillar has been spotted by retailers as a favourite; this comes as no surprise as the caterpillar is based on eric carle’s 1969 picture book which has sold over 30 million copies worldwide,” glick explains.
