distributed in australia by liberta jewel, the designs are the result of partnership struck at the 2010 video music awards when otazu designed the signer’s iconic yet controversial meat purse and jewellery.
customers can choose from six tribal inspired swarovski crystal necklaces which are designed to be worn together or separately.
designer rodrigo otazu was born in argentina but now calls new york home. he is a former calvin klein model known for his distinctive style.
“i am self-taught and have a very personal style, for me design is about a feeling inside me, a sensation you want to share,” he says.
otazu is no stranger to celebrity recognition with his pieces also worn by madonna, grace jones and mary j blige, and featured in the film sex and the city 2 and britney spears’ ‘slave 4 u’ film clip.
“passion is what comes from my roots, but i live in the present. i love action, energy and powerful women,” he adds. “always expect the unexpected.”
