xavier&me has launched its first collection of rugs inspired by its popular cushion designs.
the sydney-based business has unveiled two design styles for the new additions. hot springs is inspired by the popular cushion pattern of the same name while gradient stripes is a stylish piece with a linear structure.
founder and designer ellie bradley says adding rugs to her product offering was only a matter of time.
“i’ve always wanted to do a range of rugs, it was a natural extension of my product line, so i’m really excited they’re finally here,” she says.
the rugs are hand-knotted in india and nepal with the standard range made from new zealand wool, while other pieces use 100 per cent nepalese wool, 100 per cent silk, linen, nettle and hemp.
“the quality of our rugs was really important to me. handmade rugs last a lot longer and wear a lot better. new zealand wool is known for its superior softness and while our rugs share the same design name, no two rugs are perfectly identical, making it a unique piece for your home or workplace,” she adds.
