Oxfam fair trade products star alongside Dalai Lama on Masterchef
ceramic tableware designed by kylie kwong and a range of oxfam fair trade kitchen and homewares products were featured in the dalai lama episode of channel ten’s hit series masterchef.
kylie kwong’s the lotus range is being produced in collaboration with oxfam to be released in october. other products to star on the show include hand crafted crockery, platters, candle holders and table runners.
the aid organisation says it was thrilled to be a part of the television event.
“oxfam is very excited about a wide range of our fair trade products being featured on the dalai lama episode of masterchef,” says oxfam’s nadine silverberg.
“our vision is to make beautiful hand-crafted products like these, which also help their producers earn better wages and receive improved working conditions, accessible to all australians.”
products sold in oxfam shops are from developing countries and crafted by community artisans who receive fair prices and better working conditions under fair trade principles.
